Here’s Why Your Website Needs a 3-Step Plan

Give Your Customers a Plan

When customers are thinking about using your product or service, they are likely making a mental list of objections:

  • Too expensive
  • Too time consuming
  • Not sure it will work
  • Looks complicated

And the list goes on …

People naturally feel a bit apprehensive about trying something new. So how can we overcome their objections and feelings of overwhelm? By giving them a simple plan that demonstrates how easy it is to do business with you.

Do you have a simple, three-step plan on your website? If not, add this section to your website and your overall marketing message.

Give potential customers a path to follow. Let them know exactly what they need to do. You may be thinking, “Do I really need to spell this out for people?” Yes, yes you do. Show people how easy it is to do business with you. Even if it feels easy and obvious to you, it doesn’t feel that way to your potential customers.

Keep it simple with three steps (three is manageable; don’t have more than four steps). For example, on my website the plan is:

1. Schedule a free consultation call.
2. Choose the best marketing plan for your business.
3. Celebrate as your business grows.

Is that a comprehensive list of the steps involved in working with me? Of course not. But to a potential client, it feels completely doable. Remember, the main goal of your marketing is for people to realize you can solve their problem and then take action.

Bonus Tip: A great Step #1 is your direct call to action. A great Step #3 is the success your customer will experience.
